Week 9/52 Trinkets and Treasures

Week 9/52 Trinkets and Treasures
I knew instantly what I wanted to do for this week’s theme. While not technically a winner, I love the personal meaning.

One of my greatest treasures is my wedding ring, which my husband and I designed (20 years ago), incorporating stones I had inherited from each of my grandmothers.
In contrast, my greatest trinket is the "placeholder" engagement ring he gave me while we were having the "real" ring made. At $9.99 from JC Penney, it was the cheapest ring he could find. It quickly discolored, the little side sparkles mostly fell out, and the blue plastic "stone" was quickly beyond cleaning, but I love the memories it brings back when I come across it in my jewelry box.
